The Madurai Temple Tour is among the extra ordinary tour
to explore the most beautiful destinations of south India,
in its natural settings, along with equally beautiful
temples of Madurai. The magnificent wildlife, the beaches
and plantations will be no less than a spiritual tour.
The Madurai Temple Tour Package is a spectacular spiritual
fling for 7 nights and 8 days, following the route map
of Madurai - Periyar - Kumarakom - Kottayam - Alleppey
- Cochin -
Bombay.
Day 01 : Madurai
Early morning arrive at Madurai, also known as the temple
city whose history dates back to the Sangam Period. Here
at the airport our representative, will escort you and
later transfer you to the hotel. Later afternoon depart
on an excursion of the Madurai Temple Tour; visit Meenakshi
Temple, Mariamman Teppakulam, Ashta Shakti Mandapam and
the Palace of Tirumalai Nayak which has an interesting
museum inside, if time permits we can also enjoy the sound
and light show. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 02 : Madurai-Periyar
Depart from Madurai towards Periyar, to explore the vivid
plantations. At arrival you shall be transferred to the
hotel, later enjoy the boat cruise exploring the Periyar
wildlife sanctuary and stroll through the tea, coffee,
cardamoms plantations. The Periyar wildlife is a harmonious
co-existence of inherent relationship between the terrestrial,
aquatic, and submarine life forms that can be best explored
through the boat cruise. Overnight stay will be in the
hotel.
Day 03-04: Periyar-Kumarakom
Early morning we shall drive towards Kumarakom located
on the Vembanad Lake. Navigate through the Kuttanad backwaters
in the houseboat along the palm-fringed canals. The resort
here on the ridge of the lake is good option for some
yoga and meditation sessions. Overnight will be at the
resort.
Following day we shall visit the Kumarakon Bird Sanctuary
a beautiful location where the Meenachil River meets Vembanad
Lake. Evening shall be free for leisure activities. Overnight
stay will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Kumarakom - Kottayam - Alleppey
Today we shall depart from Kumarakom and reach Kottayam
where get an opportunity to sail on the luxurious houseboat. Later the "Venice of East" Alleppey shall
welcome you in its subtle waters. Most of the architecture
surviving in Alleppey is from the colonial period. The
backwater cruise will take you along canals, scenic
islands with sublime view of the coconut and paddy fields,
and Chinese fishing nets. Dinner and overnight stay
will be in the houseboat.
Day 06 - 07 : Alleppey- Kochi
After breakfast we shall depart from Alleppey houseboat
to Kochi at arrival you shall be assisted and transferred
to a hotel in Kochi. we shall visit the Syro-Malabar Church
and the St.Antony's shrine at Kaloor. Also visit the historic
Vasco da Gama Square to taste some delicious seafood.
Relish the Kochi cuisines with Kathakali dance performance.
Following day we shall visit the ancient Mattancherry
(Dutch) Palace and the Hill Palace famous for the beautiful
paintings
Shop for some Handicraft items made of Rosewood carved
items like Lamp stands, Bookends, or ecological sensitive
items made of coconut shell like the hookahs, power box,
lampshades made of bamboo.
Day 08: Kochi - Mumbai
Early morning drive to the airport to board flight to
Mumbai for you onward destination.
