Day 01 : Delhi - Amritsar
Leave for Amritsar on Shatabdi Express. On arrival check
in at Ritz Plaza \ M K HOtel for Dinner & Overnite
stay. Afternoon visit Wagah Border for "Change of
Gaurds" ceremony held by Pakistani Rangers &
Indian BSF. On return, drive upto Shera Wali Gate &
then take a ride on Rickshaws upto Julian Walla Bagh.
Later visit Golden Temple Complex, the Holy Site of Sikhs
to visit Harmindar Sahib. Return to Hotel for Overnite
stay.
Day 02 : Amritsar - Dharamsala
Early morning, leave from Amritsar for Dharamsala,
passing thru Pathankot & Nurpur village. Start ascending
the hills of Himachal Pradesh. On arrival at McLeod
Gunj (Upper Dharamsala) check in at Surya Resort \ Best
Western Anand Palace for overnight stay. PM Sightseeing
of Bagshu Nag Temple & Water Fall by Foot. All meals
& Overnite stay at Hotel.
Day 03 : Dharamsala - Manali
Leave early morning for Manali Proceed towards Chamunda
to see Chamunda Ji Temple. Drive via Palampur to see
Tea Estates & famous for paragliding. Enroute stop
at Baijnath to see Shiva Temple at Baijnath. Later pass
thru the town on Mandi, the temple city & famous
for Pandoh Dam, 16 Kms ahead. Further drive along the
River Beas passing thru Kullu Town, the Valley Of Gods.
Proceed further 40 Kms to arrive at MANALI. On arrival
check in at Bannon Resort for Overnite stay & meals.
Day 04 : Manali
Morning visit the famous temple of Hadimba Devi,
Old Manali town & Vashist hot springs + Afternoon
visit Nagar Castle. Overnight & Meals in Hotel.
Day 05: Manali - Keylong - Jespa
After early breakfast drive to Jespa, enroute crossing
over Rohtang Pass (3980 Mts. ASL) via Koksar (stop for
Passport check) Sisu falls & Keylong, the district
HQs of Keylong Valley. Overnight at Hotel with all meals.
Day 06 : Keylong - Jespa - Sarchu
Drive early morning alongside the Bhaga River up
towards its source. Drive over Baralachla-la (4892 Mts.
ASL). On arrival at Sarchu, check in at Fixed Camps
for overnight stay & all meals.
Day 07 : Sarchu - Leh
After breakfast, drive to Leh with a view of magnificent
Zanskar Range. Drive over Naklila & Lachungla Pass
(5060 Mts. ASL) Stop at Pang for Passport check. Proceed
further through More Plains & then ascend over Tanglangla
Pass (5330 Mts. ASL) After descending from Tanglangla;
you will drive to Leh alongside the Indus River. On
Arrival, check in at Hotel Kanglha-Chen or Similar for
overnight stay & all meals.
Day 08 : Leh
AM Walk upto Samker Gompa. Samker Gompa is little
up in the valley, 3 Kms from Leh Town, which is open
to visitors in the morning and evening only. The Gompa
belongs to Yellow Sect & was founded in 18th Century.
The Gompa is the seat of the Head Lama of Ladakh &
founder of yellow sect, Tson-Kha-Pa. The temple walls
have recent painted of figures including Sakyamuni,
Avalokiteshwara, Padmasambhava, Tson-Ka-pa and green
Tara. Later visit Shanti Stupa built by the Japanese
Artists, few years ago on a hilltop. Later walk back
to Leh Bazaar through the famous Leh Polo Ground. Afternoon,
proceed 6to Stok - The Palace of the banished royal
family, Stok has a museum which displays fabulous period
costumes and jewelry of the royalty along with exquisite
Tangkhas representing the life of the Sakya- Muni Buddha.
Interesting historical objects like coins, seals, armour,
weapons, precious jade and porcelain can also be seen
here. Further drive upto Stakna Monastery - to visit
the Monastery of 17th Century just near Indus River.
Return to your Hotel for overnight stay.. Overnight
& All meals in Hotel.
Day 09 : Leh
Half day visiting Shey, Thiksey & Stok Palace.
After breakfast, proceed to Shey - it was the ancient
capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal built
the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued
to regard Shey, as their real home. The importance which
was attached to Shey - the seat of Ladakh's heartland
- is attested by the enormous number of Chorten about
the village, particularly around the palace complex
and barren plain to the north of the road. Thiksey -
is one of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There
are several temples in this Gompa containing images,
stupas and exquisite wall paintings. It also houses
a two - storied statue of Buddha which has the main
prayer hall around its shoulder. Proceed to Hemis. The
famous Hemis Gompa celebrates its annual festival today
which will continue for 02 days. The festival time for
the villagers is a gala time when they visit the monastery
to make offerings and at the same time get a chance
to watch festivities; the Prayer ceremonies and mask
dances. Half day visiting Hemis, which is dedicated
to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observe is a series
of scenes in which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich,
brightly colored brocade and sporting masks sometimes
benign and sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in solemn
dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center
of the courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn.
The moan of the eleven Feet horns, the boom of drums
and the clash of cymbals. Hemis was founded in 1630s
by -Tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of Singge
Namgyal, Hemis is largest and richest of Ladakh Gompa
it nestles into the mountain Side a little way up a
glen in the mountains of Zanskar range. Return to Leh
for Overnight stay. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10 : Leh - Uleytokpo
Morning depart Leh for Uleytokpo enroute visit Alchi
Gompa, the most beautiful Gompa of Ladakh also called
Jewel among the central Ladakh's religious sites. It's
known as Chos-Kor, or religious enclave. It comprises
five temples which are noted for its massive Buddha
statues and lavish woodcarvings and art work its Murals
dating from 11th to 12th centuries, pre - date the Tibetan
style of painting that is present in all other Gompas.
Later check-in at the Uleytokpo Ethnic Resort &
enjoy hot lunch there. Alchi Choskor "Religious
Enclave" is 69 km. west of Leh, the most famous
and largest of all the Gonpa built by Lotsava Rinchen
Zangpo. He appointed four families to look after Choskor,
as there was no monastic community introduced, and then
in the 15th century Choskor was taken over by the Likir
Monastery since then Choskor is being taken care of
by Likir Monastery. The monastery comprises of Dukhang
(Assembly Hall), Sumtsek Lakhang (three tier) the Lakhang
Soma (New Temple), Jamyang Lakhang (Munjushri Temple),
Lotsava Lakhang (Translator Temple) and Kangyur Lakhang.
The Sculptors and Wood carvers are said to be brought
from Kashmir around in 11th Century. Afternoon drive
3 Kms to Rizong Gompa. It involves 2 Kms of walk to
reach main Gompa. Called "Chomos". It's a
small Gompa situated deep inside a narrow valley. Rizong
"Vuma Changchubling" around 73 kms west of
Leh, and north of the Indus River from Uleytokpo village.
It is beautifully set in a valley, deep inside a gorge
and the most isolated monastery in Ladakh. About 137
years ago Lama Tsultim Nima founded this Gonpa and monastic
community was introduced with strict rules and regulations.
Chulichan the Nunnery place is around one & half
kms. Further down the monastery, around 20 nuns reside
at Chulichan; they provide food and clothes to the monks.
Apart from above activities they perform prayers in
the morning and evening. Return to Uleytokpo Camp for
all meals & Overnight stay.
Day 11 : Uleytokpo - Kargil 240 Kms
After breakfast Drive for Kargil. Enroute visit
Lamayuru at a distance of 85 Kms approx. The 10th century
Lamayuru Monastery, one of the earliest seats of lamaistic
learning and most picturesque monastery in Ladakh. The
oldest monastery of Ladakh. Enjoy Hot Lunch at the Local
Restaurant there. Proceed further towards the Monastery
of Mulbekh, famous for 1st century Statue of Maitrya
Buddha, carved out of a huge rock. & passing thru
Namikala & Fatula Passes, the highest Pass on Leh
- Srinagar road. Visit the 10th Century Monastery, also
called as "Yandrung Gompa" of red sect. Later
drive along the Indus River & passing thru the villages
of Khalsi. Arrive Kargil & Check in at Hotel D'Zojila
- Kargil for overnight Stay & Meals.
Day 12 : Kargil - Srinagar 204 Kms
After Early breakfast depart for Srinagar (204 Kms)
drive towards Srinagar Stop at Drass, the 2nd coldest
inhabitant place in the World for Passport check &
cup of tea. Then drive along the Drass River and passing
over Zojila Pass till one arrives at Srinagar &
drive thru Sonamarg. Situated at an altitude of 9000
Ft. Sonamarg - 84 Kms is also called as "The meadow
of gold" has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains
against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders
through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer.
Stop at Sonamarg Glacier Restaurant for Breakfast. Immediately
after breakfast, drive towards Srinagar & Check
in at Deluxe Houseboat - Srinagar. Dinner & overnight
stay at Hotel.
Day 13 : Srinagar
After breakfast, visit Mughal Gardens Terraced lawns,
cascading fountains, and paint-box bright flowerbeds
with the panorama of the Dal in front of them. The three
Mughal Gardens of Cheshmashahi, Nishat and Shalimar
are the Mughal emperor's concept of paradise and are
today very popular places for picnics. These gardens
are traditionally patterned in the formal gardens of
Central Asia, Persia and Turkistan. Cheshmashahi is
the first Mughal Garden you will pass after Nehru Park.
Built at a height above the city, its views are as stupendous
as its layout. The smallest of Srinagar's Mughal gardens,
Cheshmashahi has only three terraces in addition to
a natural spring of water enclosed in a stone pavillion.
Nishat built by Empress Nur Jahan's brother Asaf Khan.
The largest of the gardens, Nishat has seven terraces.
These terraces rise dramatically off the mountains from
the eastern part of the lake, and these together with
the flowerbeds, a riot of brilliant colors, present
an unforgettable sight. Emperor Jehangir, whose love
for the Kashmir was legendary, built Shalimar, the garden
of love. Shaded by magnificient chinar trees, the Shalimar
is a series of stones of pavilions and flowerbeds. Dinner
and overnight stay at Houseboat. Afternoon enjoy Shikara
Ride on Dal Lake. Dinner and overnight stay at Houseboat.
Day 14 : Gulmarg 54 Kms - One Way 8700 ft.2 Hrs
One Way Full Day return excursion to Gulmarg, called
as "Meadow of Flowers" with picnic lunch.
Gulmarg is 53 Kms from Srinagar at an altitude of 8700-ft.
Gulmarg also referred as Meadow of Flowers is a famous
Ski Resort & the world's highest 18 hole Golf Course.
The place was prominent during the British time. Enjoy
the scenic view of Kongdori on a Cable Car Ride - OPTIONAL
(Gondola) Return to Srinagar for an overnight stay at
Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 15 : Sxr - Delhi
In time transfer to airport to connect the flight
for Delhi.
Depart : Srinagar by 9w 605 At 1450 Hrs.
Arrive : Delhi By Indian Airlines Flt # 9w 605 At 1615
